Pavlik, Miroslav ; Ištvánek, Matěj (referee) ; Koton, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to get acquainted with the issue of analog compressor Universal Audio 1176 and verify the functionality and principles of individual block diagrams of this compressor. The bachelor's thesis is carried out for a detailed analysis of individual blocks of compressor 1176. A practical implementation was constructed, to verify the correct functionality of compressor 1176 on measurements, which were performed in the laboratory.
Wide-band FTTx Networks Terminal in WDM - PON architecture
Bobkovič, Peter ; Reichert, Pavel (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This masters thesis is focusing on the issue of passive optic access networks. It is dealing with the limiting factors for broadband connections, especially attenuation of fibre optics and dispersion. It is also dealing with most commonly used standards of passive optic networks. It clarifies the issue of wavelength-division multiplexing, its advantages and disadvantages, used standards, various types of components for the WDM-networks, their characteristics, application etc. In the practical part of the work you can find the measuring and diagnostics of the passive optic network EPON. It contains measuring by the direct method OLTS, measuring by the Pon Power Meter and optic reflectometer OTDR. At the end I am dealing with the measuring of splitter in the rate of 1:16.
Pomer polynenasýtených mastných kyselín n-6 a n-3 vo vzťahu k riziku srdcovo-cievnych ochorení
Gregorová, Lívia
The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to create literature research using literature sources to clarify the correlation between the consumption of n-3 and n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet and also their relative proportion in the diet as a prevention or stopping the progression of cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, in this thesis I have elucidated the causes of cardiovascular diseases, I have become familiar with the pathophysiology of these diseases, I have elucidated the function of polyunsaturated fatty acids (α-linolenic acid and its metabolites and linoleic acid and its resulting metabolites) in the human body and their metabolism. Finally, I made dietary recommendations resulting from lifestyle and dietary patterns as well as elucidate risk factors associated with the development of cardiovascular diseases.
From Descates' Mind to Kant's Reason
Dekastello, Petr ; Hill, James (advisor) ; Palkoska, Jan (referee)
The basic subject-matter of my research is R. Descartes' Meditations On First Philosophy and I examine the term intellect and its position within the mind and its relation to thought. My work includes a study of sensation and imagination which provide the intellect with "material" to judge. The objective of my thesis is to demonstrate the role the intellect plays in terms of reason and to present an interpretation of the way in which the mind is designated in relation to reason according to Rene Descartes in his writing and in his responses to objections. The position and functions of the intellect are understood as a logical structure of mutual dependence and as the elements essential for the understanding of the human soul substance. At the end of my thesis I demonstrate that the system of reason of R. Descartes might be considered as the basis for the transcendental conception of reason in Kant's philosophy, which leads to an idealistic world conception and is founded on thinking a priori. Interpretation of calculations in word problems - looking for a question
Legová, Tereza ; Vondrová, Naďa (advisor) ; Jančařík, Antonín (referee)
Title: Interpretation of calculations in word problems - looking for a question Author: Tereza Legová Department: Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Education Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Naďa Vondrová, Ph.D., Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Education Abstract: This thesis deals with an exploratory study of the introduction of modified word problems into the teaching of mathematics. The modification of the classical word problem consists in setting the context of the word problem and calculation. The task of pupils is to find out what we get by the given calculation, what question the calculation answers and substantiate their claims. The aim of the thesis was to describe how pupils think in solving this type of problem. Specifically, it investigated what strategies pupils elect and what difficulties arise in solving. The theoretical part of the thesis is a search of literature on the topic of solving word problems and their possible implementation in teaching. The practical part is divided into two phases. A test consisting of three problem contexts was given to pupils. The aim was to determine the meaning of the three given calculations for the each context. Before solving the test, a sample problem was discussed with the pupils. In the first phase, interviews were conducted with six pupils...

Use of the CLIL method in teaching mathematics for lower secondary pupils
Reslová, Hana ; Novotná, Jarmila (advisor) ; Moraová, Hana (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). The term stands for a teaching method used in the non-language classes that has a content-oriented and lingual goal. CLIL has been incorporated into the learning process as one of the instruments that leads to improving language learning in Europe. The aim of my thesis was to prepare, realize and evaluate a twomonth long process of using CLIL in lessons of Math for lower secondary pupils. In the experiment I surveyed the impact of the connection between Math and English language on pupils' motivation and Math knowledge. The experimental lessons were focused on the topics of ratio, direct and inverse proportion. The main method used in the thesis was action research. Other applied methods were quantitative methods (questionnaires) and qualitative methods (interview and mediated observation). Parts of the thesis include preparations of seven CLIL lessons accompanied by methodical description and worksheets. These materials were used in lessons during the experiment. The experiment showed and proved the procedure of successful CLIL method implementation to the lessons of Math. The implementation did not have a negative impact on pupils' motivation, knowledge and activity on the lesson's.
Cavalieri's principle
Kreslová, Iva ; Halas, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Štěpánová, Martina (referee)
The Bachelor thesis deals with the development of key ideas important for formal formulating of Cavalieri's principle, its proof in general form and using Cavalieri's principle in determining the area of plane figures and volumes of solids. Determining of area and volumes using Cavalieri's principle is associated with the derivation of the well-known formulae for calculating area and volume.
Variation of isotopic composition in selected natural and archeological samples, methodical approach
Venhauerová, Petra ; Trubač, Jakub (advisor) ; Magna, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis is focused on elaboration of the methodical approaches for determination silver isotope ratios by multicollector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MC-ICP- MS) from Centrum of stable and radiogenic isotopes on Science Faculty on Charles University. Therefore, this thesis describes in detail methodology of chromatographic separation and conditions of further measurement. For analysis of isotopic ratios 107 Ag/109 Ag in individual samples are used natural samples of various silver and gold deposits in Czech Republic and Poland. Also, archeological findings of fractures of silver coins from our country. The aim of this work is to find out if there is a variability among this two types of samples. Measured values are further correlated with already published works specialized on similar types of natural and archeological samples. The obtained values could be used for an interpretation of geological processes (e. g. physicochemical fractionation during ore forming processes) or as an identification source of the origin of coins and other archeological findings (e. g. silver ornaments). Gained knowledge of this work will help improve contemporary methodology in measurement of silver isotopes, such as standard calibration and tuning the stability of a signal. Key words: isotopes of...
